MOVIE NIGHTS FUNDRAISER - NO ACCESS TO GOOGLE PHOTOS - #16

It is spring and it's time to fundraise  and socialize! A local community in Westchester County, NY came together to view 2 different movies: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Wicked. Each ticket costs $15.00 per person which includes both movie nights and a food package of 1 hot dog, 1 popcorn, and 1 drink. Proceeds go to the ESL department of their local primary school to fund trips and supplies.

Great Grandma Christmas Read Aloud Party - #13

Children gathered around a local community setting for a special treat. A great grandmother read the classic tale"Twas the Night Before Christmas" to the children of Mt.Vernon, NY. A local musician played his guitar and the students sang carols. A world renowned author by the name of Anne John Ligali, Zoomed in from the UK to read an excerpt of her Christmas book and have an intellectual discussion about the characters. Christmas gifts were given to the children and Christmas treats were eaten. 

Hispanic Heritage 2024: Living Wax Museum. 
Believe That the Impossible if Possible - #14

Students impersonated famous Hispanic leaders while posing in a still position. When a museum visitor touches each wax figure, the figure comes alive and recites a bio of oneself. Museum goers also took a photo of the QR code next to the wax figure, to read more about this famous person. 


Tea Party and Etiquette Class - #15

It's Springtime in the quaint village of Mt.Vernon and the little ladies and dapper gents gather together for afternoon tea. 

 They wear their finest pastels, lace gloves, white pearls, sharpest suits, and colorful hats. Tea pots, finger sandwiches, fresh fruit, salads, scones with jam, and delightful pastries fill the environment with sharp colors and aromas. Music from a pianist plays classic Broadway hits and old classics from Ella Fitzgerald with famous Big Band music from the 1940's. The event was magnified with an electric fashion show with party guests sporting their party attire.     





ESL SPRING SOCIAL  - #10

It is springtime and the young people who speak other languages other than English gather together for an evening of Spanish jazz music, good conversations and delightful Italian food. The entryway to the festivities was adorned with spring tulips, butterflies, daisies, roses, and sunflowers. The air smelled delightful with the aroma of Italian dishes cooking in the oven. The young gathered with parents as they ate and listened to the local Spanish jazz musicians play music on the guitar and drums. 

HISPANIC HERITAGE 2023: 
I HAVE WINGS TO FLY #11

It is wonderful to see a show with young people to celebrate Hispanic Heritage. To celebrate the lives of musicians and artists through poetry, dance, and singing. A local band assisted the young people in bringing music to life. Mexican paper flowers adorned the amphitheater to bring Latin flavor to life! Groups of students representing a different Hispanic country spoke, danced, and sang songs from that country. 

BELLA'S NY BOOK TOUR - #12

U.K. based author, Anne John LIgali, had a 5 day book tour in the NewYork City and Westchester County areas. The locations were Mount Vernon public library, Yonkers, and Bronxville. She visited the Grimes-Parker summer academy and ended her tour at a Christian evangelism summer music festival called Fun in the Son.  

HOPE DAY & FUN IN THE SON 2021 -  #7

Hope Day are Christian evangelism events designed for people of all walks of life. These events feature live music performances by top artists and offer various activities in different villages, including the Wealthy Village, Health and Fitness Village, Children's Village, and Prayer Village. In the Children's Village, kids can enjoy games, rides, face painting, storytelling by renowned authors, dancing to praise and worship music, and participate in an altar call for prayer.

Fun in the Son  Fun in the Son is a 3 day Christian Evangelism music festival held in the Bronx, NY every August. The "Son" in the title refers to the Lord, Jesus Christ. There are small villages the public can visit such as Wealthy Village, Health and Fitness Village, Children's Village, and Prayer Village. A free concert is performed by famous Christian artists and the word of God would be spread with an altar call at the end. In the Children's Village,face painting, bouncy houses, field games, read alouds, sing alongs, and an altar call that entailed praying over children is performed.

INTERNATIONAL DAY AT CORNERSTONE - #8

It's time to celebrate different cultures around the world. Children created a story around their home country and recited their masterpiece. At the end everyone enjoyed a feast of food from the international homes. The guests also danced the night away to native music from different cultures. 

CORNERSTONE MASTERMIND - #9

Cornerstone Summer Mastermind: 

This unique summer program was designed for children ages 3-12. Various activities were done during the week. Students were pampered with mani/ pedi, face masks, and massages on Spa day. Other unique days were Olympic Day, Musician Day, Planting Day, Science day, and Musician Day. 

TIME TO SHINE AT 169 TALENT SHOW #4

Young people in the Bayside Queens area of New York City came alive during their first annual talent show. Students performed dances, sang songs, recited poetry, performed stand up comedy routines, and played various instruments.

In Orange County, NY, this couple found a quaint farm by a lake where they said "I do."

This Parisian-themed bridal shower was filled with games, food, laughter, lace parasols, and mimosas.

MOTHER OF THE UNIVERSE #1

On a warm spring evening in May, friends and family came together to celebrate an extraordinary woman, a cornerstone of her community. Her children and granddaughter organized the event to honor her and to express that she is truly the "Mother of the Universe." The celebration began with a ceremony that introduced the family members. The entertainment for the evening featured poetry readings, African dances, vocal performances, and instrumental music. At the conclusion of each performance, the artists presented a rose to the esteemed mother as a token of appreciation. The night concluded with a buffet of Caribbean cuisine, followed by dancing that lasted until the early morning hours.

WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH #2

What does a great woman mean to me? During a performance for Women's History Month, children each recited a biography of an influential woman, expressing their admiration and positive feelings toward her. The show concluded with the group performing a choreographed song and dance to Whitney Houston's "I'm Every Woman."

PRINCESS BRITTANY'S SWEET SIXTEEN PARTY #3

A young teenager from Westchester County, New York, was delighted to celebrate her Sweet 16th on a beautiful sunny day in June. The party was themed around British royalty, featuring knights, jesters, musicians, a royal court, and townsfolk. The music, food, and dancing beautifully complemented the event, making it a memorable occasion.
